Goudeau Photography bio picture

Welcome!

Thank you for visiting my photography blog!

I'm an Austin-based, natural light photographer and I specialize in children, teens, engagement and family portrait photography. I have always had an itch to be creative. I love what I do because it not only enables me to pursue one of my passions, but it also allows me to meet great people along the way.

I am married to my beautiful wife, Cari, and together we are blessed with an adorable little red headed princess named Avery. We are also proud owners of an incredibly entertaining mini-schnauzer, Bailey. I love capturing precious memories of my own family, and would be honored to capture your family's memories as well!

Please take a moment to look around, and if you have any questions feel free to contact me through the link above. I look forward to hearing from you and getting to know you better!

Best Regards,

Joel Goudeau

My Brazilian Family {Austin Family Photographer}

Meet my Brazilian family!

For the first 12 years of my life I lived in Brazil, and the Zanattas were very much a huge part of my life in those formidable years. So as you might imagine, I was excited to hear that they were going to be in town and ecstatic when they asked me to take their family portraits. For much of the clan, this was their first time in Austin, so I was thrilled to be able to do a shoot as well as show them some of the sites around Austin.

I love this family and I hate to see them go. I just hope it won’t take us another 8 years to see each other again.

Thank you Zanatta family for giving me the privilege of taking your family portraits!

The Miller Family {Austin Family Photographer}

Meet the Millers!

I’ve known this couple for a while now, but it was my first time to have ever met these two sweet little boys. I feel honored to have taken pictures of this family because by the end of the year, these two little boys’ daddy will be deploying for a full year and they made sure to fit me into their busy holiday schedule.

You’d never know it, but I shot this in the middle of December! I’m not complaining…I think some of these pictures turned out absolutely beautiful due to the fall colored leaves. Millers, I hope you love these pictures as much as I do!

The Dugan Family {Austin Family Photographer}

Meet part of my family! It’s just remarkable how quickly my niece and nephew have grown since the last shoot I had with them. Feels like it was yesterday.

I just had such a great time taking pictures of these 4 and I’m so happy to share them with you. I think these turned out absolutely gorgeous and I think the Dugans have plenty of photos to pick from for their Christmas card. Can’t wait to see which ones they pick.

Winter Princesses {Austin Children Photographer}

I’m privileged to share with you another shoot of these two little kiddos. It’s amazing to see how they’ve grown since the last shoot I had of them together.

Did you know that each Disney princess has a different smile/pose? Well, this is what I learned from the oldest sister, whose 4 year old portraits you’ll see below, on this particular day. My personal favorite has to be the Snow White smile. I had so much fun playing pretend with these two little precious girls and I’m thrilled to show you the results.

Jamie’s Senior Portraits {Austin Senior Photographer}

Jamie took full advantage of my senior mini-session special this past weekend, and I cannot express to you how excited I am to share these photos with you. As you can see, Jamie is a very photogenic girl and it made the selection process very difficult, but I’m confident that I picked some of the very best to share with you on this post.

The weather was absolutely perfect and the lighting was some of the best that I have seen in a while. I had never shot at the Austin capitol before, but I think after this shoot, I have a new appreciation for the place. Despite the fact that it’s swarming with photographers, wedding parties, quinceañeras, and tourists, there is still enough space to make the shoot feel like you have the whole place to yourself.

If you know of a senior in need of some senior portraits, refer them to my ad and let them know that the offer is still good as long as they book with me by the end of this year (2011). Also, know that there is a 20% discount in it for you on all of my other regular session fees.

Maggie’s 6 Month Portraits {Austin Family Photographer}

Remember this tiny little newborn? Little Maggie has grown up into an adorable 6 month old! It’s amazing how much she’s grown since we met up last May to take her newborn pictures.

Despite it being cloudy and incredibly windy, we ended up with tons of great shots. Maggie was one of the smiliest babies I’ve ever photographed. It was very hard for me to narrow them down, but here are just a few of my favorites of the Looman family!

Little Addison {Austin Newborn Photographer}

Meet this family’s newest little addition, Addison. Newborn shoots always present a challenge that you don’t find with a typical family shoot. It requires patience and a lot of cooperation from the newborn. Well, this newborn was incredibly cooperative and a whole lot of fun to photograph. She slept almost the entire time and didn’t seem to mind us moving her around.

The best thing about this shoot was that I was also able to get pictures of the rest of the family. I am so happy with how these turned out and pleased with how many I ended up with at the end of the day. I typically try to limit the sneak peaks to a few of my very favorites, but this one was so hard to decide that I couldn’t help but show more than usual.

Happy Halloween!

Beckham turns 1! {Austin Family Photographer}

This little guy turned one this weekend, and I had the pleasure of taking his photos! He’s gotten so big and was incredibly cooperative for the entire shoot! Well, except for the time his parents decided to give him a kiss on the cheeks. You can see what I’m talking about below.

We were very fortunate to find a great new location for me, which allowed us to also take some great pumpkin patch photos of Beckham and his family. While I was waiting for the shoot to start, I was absolutely floored by the number of butterflies that were flying in the garden. No exaggeration, there must have been 50 flying all around me. I was actually surprised by how close I was able to get to them and I just had to share some of the shots.

Happy birthday Beckham!

Avery and “Bapples” {Austin Children Photographer}

There is no persuading her! My daughter is convinced that pumpkins are just large overgrown “bapples”. Who can blame her. I can’t imagine how overwhelming it must be to be surrounded by these life-sized fruits (or is it a vegetable?) for the first time.

We got a chance last week to take a few pictures of her at our new favorite pumpkin patch location and I just had to share some of my favorite pictures of my little one.
